Angela Schwank, born 1967 in Germany, studied physics and philosophy and has lived in Vienna since 1996. The main focus of her artistic work is painting, specialising in geometric abstraction. She also works as a freelance curator with projects in the field of artistic photography and at the interface of art and science, among others. Her current artist's book "Cirren" was conceived during the conception of the exhibition "Nightwatch" (NHM, FotoWien 2019/ BBAW 2020), which was an intersection between art and astronomy and included historical drawings of nebulae. In 2019 the first drawing studies of cirrus clouds were created, followed by a photographic project that became part of the work in the book. The book will be published in September 2021.
