»Roses«

by Francoise & Daniel Cartier

The artist couple Francoise and Daniel Cartier make images in their most essential form, directly on vintage paper. Through methodical research they have established an extensive and ever-growing library. With over 300+ types of antique photo paper, this has allowed them to reduce their images to a minimalist focus. 14 years ago, f&d decided to give up “capturing the instant and to concentrate on the concept.” Expanding on their already known “camera-less” photographic processes, the couple would now seek to eliminate the “clichés of subject matter” to pursue this new focus as their primary evolutionary expression. Their principal technique is to place objets trouvés directly on photopaper and expose them to daylight. Identity, intimacy, death, social criticism, continuity and time are central themes in their work.

»I´m one. 21st century Mods«

by Horst A. Friedrichs

Photographer Horst A. Friedrichs has been documenting the British Mod scene for over 10 years. Using a mixture of color and black & white photography he has recorded the Mod community during events like 24-hour parties, dancing competitions and scooter runs. Recently Horst has embarked on a series of filmed interviews and events which offer additional appreciation of the scene. This rare collection of images provides a unique insight into the diversity of the contemporary Mod scene. The Mod's of today are an assortment of youthful new devotees and old grey-haired hipsters who fondly remember scooter trips to Brighton wearing Parka's emblazoned with "Who" and "Kinks" badges. The project chronicles this special history - from the 1960's to the present day - every new generation rediscovering what it is to be a Mod.

»Pecorino in Munich«

by Toni Anzenberger

There comes a time when everyone search for the great love. What would life be worth if one had to howl at the moon all alone, without a paw to hold? A dog’s life? Just why should it be different for a male dog? Being down in the dumps has never helped much. ‘’Problems should be taken by the horns’’, as my resolute old friend from the farmyard, Mozzarella, always said. And although she was a stupid cow to a certain extent, she often hit the nail on the head.
