Christmas carp fishing in Poland has a few hundred years tradition. Pisciculture ponds near Oswiecim in the south of Poland are one of the biggest and oldest carp providers. Every year in fall, after a year of preparations, fishing season is open. For a few weeks fishermen throw nets in numerous ponds. During this short period they have to work very hard to fish tons of carp. They have to finish a few weeks before Christmas.
